Ebay Boredom

So I thought Ebay would be a good way to sell things I did not want to keep. Not so, at least not yet. Only two of the 8 things I listed have been bid on so far. At least the other things are being watched/been bid on. I was really hoping this would be a good way for things to leave my apartment. I think I'll still try again though, maybe there is something to be learned from all this. Like don't buy a bunch of stuff you'll never get around to using.

Planning Europe

Before I graduated, I was thinking Europe might be a good excuse to not get a real job yet. With graduation gifts coming in (read: cash), the dream became more of a reality. All members of family and friends to respond to my graduation have done so in monetary ways when possible. For me, this is great. I want to go for as long as possible. I have no obligations other than supporting myself. Though school ended only a week ago, full research is underway to make this trip reality. I have downloaded countless pages of information, and that is only the beginning. I still have the library to hit up, and possibly books to buy for the trip. I have read some great information on what to pack, and I think I might need to invest in some new clothing to make laundry easier, as I expect to do laundry in the sink many nights while abroad. Already, I have too many countries I want to see. Even though I am planning 2-3 months, I need to downsize my list so that I will have more time in each place. Some countries have more than one city on their list, other countries have people I would like to see for longer than a day. Plus, any excuse I leave myself to get back only ensures yet another trip.

If anyone has suggestions of what to pack/what to see/where to go/any other good information, please leave me a comment. Of course, any updates will be made here.

Selling on Ebay

Since I plan on moving in the next couple of months, and I don't want to move all my stuff, I have given Ebay a try. Today I listed 8 items, which took quite a bit longer than I expected. They were all Partylite items, things I had bought a few years ago and never got around to using. Bummer too, I'm sure they'll sell for less than I paid for them. I suppose I spent the money long enough ago though that it will feel like I am just making money.

And on that note, here is another I have found that claims to make you money:

It could possibly be the slowest way to earn $25. But it doesn't take much time out of a day, so if you think you might be interested, you could give it a try.

Enough of that though, I should find the next thing to get to work on. Like the Pampered Chef stuff that I bought but will be not keeping. More ebay.

My First Knitting Project

I finally finished the first thing I ever started knitting today. It is a tiny purse, about 5 1/2 inches wide and 4 inches tall. I even lined it to keep it from over-stretching or from things falling through. I'm sending it to my sister for her birthday (which is today, guess that'll be late). It seems as though it took forever, since I could only do a row or two at a time. And I learned that 100% nylon yarn is very hard to work with. I think I might avoid that in the future.

I hope she likes it. It's a little crooked, but it is the first. Maybe once it gets broken in a little, it'll look better. I've already got a good start on the next project: a scarf. Though the yarn is acrylic, it's bulky, and I like the way it feels as it goes together. My colors aren't quite the same, but I am in it more to learn to do it, and my friend gave me the yarn for free.

Graduation Weekend Over

Long weekend on top of a long week. Good thing I am doing nothing tomorrow.

My mom tried several pictures of me dressed like I was something important. None really worked until I got tired of the sun in my eyes and put my sunglasses back on. That's when she said "Now you look like you." I guess when I don't wear them, people don't know for sure if it is me.

So what will I do now to fill my time? My next project is some research on Europe. My plan is to go for a couple of months. I just need to figure out how to do it as cheaply as possible, without compromising fun. In all, it should be a learning experience for me. Figure out who I am, and where I want to go. What I am really supposed to be doing. Or maybe I'll learn that knowing all that stuff is overrated, and I am just fine where I am.

My Last Paper

At least for my current degree. I finished it last night, around 9:30. I was too tired then though to even notice. After all, I had been working on papers all day. The computer was the last thing I wanted to look at. But, the work is not over - yet. I still gotta clean my house before family shows up. Agh! Why is graduation only 2 days after finals??? I have a whole semester's work of house cleaning. Perhaps I will just use the box trick: put everything that is not in its place into boxes, put boxes in closet or other storage area. Yep, that sounds like the best plan. I'll have plenty of time to go through them later.

And now to the shower. Gotta go turn in those papers I worked so hard on.

My First Sale

Woo Hoo! Finally, something from my shop sold on Etsy.com. I was discouraged, the first things I listed were taken off because the time you get for a listing fee had ended. Now I think I might finally get around to the projects that have been in the back of my mind. Especially since school's end is right around the corner (only 4 days, 3 tests, and 2 papers left to go). I'll have time, and now I'll be a little more inclined to try posting in my store again.
